Robot Knee Actuator Clevis Bracket — Bored First, Slit Second
The classic way a slit clevis fails is wire cutting the slot first and boring the pin hole afterwards: slitting releases stress, the bore goes oval, and the pin is tight on assembly. We reverse the sequence: finish bore the pin hole, then slit, then re-check bore roundness, holding distortion within 0.005 mm and pin bore to groove bottom perpendicularity at 0.01 mm.
For Slit Clevis Parts the Sequence Matters More Than the Machine
The knee actuator clevis bracket links the electric cylinder to the knee link and carries unidirectional thrust plus side offset load. Its three features constrain each other:
- Slitting releases stress — an aluminum slit opens 0.01-0.03 mm on both sides; boring before slitting leaves an out-of-round bore. The correct sequence is finish bore, slit, then re-inspect.
- Groove width and pin bore perpendicularity — if the groove bottom is not perpendicular to the pin axis, the pin tilts and the push rod binds at the end of stroke. We machine the groove bottom from the pin bore axis to 0.01 mm perpendicularity.
- Clevis Stiffness — clevis ears splay under thrust; thickening the outer side and adding R4 root fillets is the cheapest and most effective fix.
- Thread concentric with pin bore — the coaxiality between the rod-end locking thread and the pin bore decides whether assembly binds; both are machined in one clamping to 0.02 mm.

Production Process: 9 Operations
| 01 | Interface and Load Review Cylinder model, rod end thread, pin diameter, swing angle and side load verified, and clevis opening direction and reinforcement locations confirmed. |
| 02 | Material and Sawing 6061-T6 or 40Cr received by heat number with material certificate; sawing leaves 4-6 mm allowance. |
| 03 | Rough mill OD OD, clevis and mounting faces rough milled with 0.6 mm per side, root fillets reserved. |
| 04 | Stress Relief Low-temperature stress relief prevents uncontrolled distortion during slitting and finishing. |
| 05 | Finish Milling and Datum Establishment Mounting face, groove bottom datum face and both outer sides finish milled to 0.01 mm flatness. |
| 06 | Finish bore pin hole Located on the groove bottom datum, the pin bore is finish bored to H7 in one setup with 0.005 mm roundness, and the locking thread is machined in the same pass. |
| 07 | Wire cut the slit Wire EDM slit to +0.02/0 mm, with smooth burr-free edges and 0.02 mm symmetry. |
| 08 | Re-inspection and correction after slitting Pin bore roundness and groove bottom perpendicularity are re-checked, with light lapping if needed; this is the key step for controlling distortion. |
| 09 | Surface Treatment and Inspection Anodizing with mating faces masked; full-dimensional CMM report, with hardness and flaw detection records for steel parts. |

Custom Engineering
Cylinder brand, rod end style and swing angle decide every dimension of a clevis bracket.
- Rod End Interface — internal thread, external thread, rod end bearing or eye fitting, matched to the actual cylinder rod end.
- Pin and bushing — H7 bores matched to the actual pin, or press-fit self-lubricating bushings and rod end bearings.
- Material Selection — aluminum for weight, quenched and tempered 40Cr for wear, 304 for corrosion resistance, with aluminum-steel hybrid structures available.
- Limit and Dust Protection — mechanical limit bosses, dust seal grooves and lubrication holes can be integrated.
Confidentiality and IP Protection
The drawings of a complete humanoid robot are often the core competitiveness of the next machine generation. We apply both physical and data isolation on a per-project basis.
- NDA First — mutual NDA and non-circumvention agreement signed before drawings are received.
- Isolated Secure Area — dedicated machines and staff, no photography and no phones inside the area.
- Not displayed — drawings, part photos and customer logos never enter sample cabinets, catalogs, the website or social media.
- Data Isolation — programs and models sit on an access-controlled server, destroyed at project end with a written record.
- Code-named — traveler cards and packaging labels use internal codes instead of customer part numbers.
Company Profile
Dongguan Changxinda Precision Technology Co., Ltd.Founded in 2008, with a team of 90-102 staff, serving 200+ Customers, export share 50-60%, annual sales of USD 10-20 million, ISO 9001:2015 certified.
Slit parts, thin-wall parts and matched pairs are the three families of troublesome parts we make most. What they share is that machine accuracy is not the bottleneck; operation sequence and fixturing strategy are. Explaining this at the quotation stage is the fastest way to work together.
