Product Description
Detailed Specifications & Features
Precision Semiconductor Test Fixture Bases

Semiconductor test fixtures operate at the intersection of three requirements that pull against each other: contact force, thermal stability, and cleanliness. A probe or socket array needs a base that stays flat at temperature, holds contact position within microns, and does not shed particles into the test environment. Our semiconductor test fixture bases are machined with those three constraints treated as one problem, because optimizing any single one usually breaks another.

Flatness Where the Contacts Land

Contact force depends on coplanarity. If the base is not flat under the device, some pins over-travel and others barely touch, which shows up as intermittent test failures that are almost impossible to diagnose from the data. We machine the contact face as a critical characteristic, control flatness and parallelism over the full array, and verify at multiple points rather than at the centre only. Working tolerance on production parts is ±0.01 mm.

Thermal Stability at Test Temperature

Burn-in and temperature cycling move a fixture. Aluminum expands, and a base that is flat at 25 °C may not be flat at 125 °C if the geometry is asymmetric or the mass distribution is uneven. We balance material removal, avoid thin unsupported sections under the device area, and specify alloys and thicknesses that behave predictably through the test window. Where the customer provides a thermal profile, we review the design against it before quoting.

Materials, Insulation & Electrical Clearance

Most bases are 6061 or 5083 aluminum, with anodizing used both for corrosion resistance and for surface electrical insulation. Hard anodizing is specified where the surface sees repeated handling or socket insertion. Insulating components, standoffs, and clearance for creepage paths are planned with the electrical requirements in hand — not added after the mechanical design is frozen.

Base Alloys 6061 / 5083 aluminum
Surface Treatment Anodizing, hard anodizing, bead blasting, passivation, plating
Working Tolerance ±0.01 mm on production parts
Insulation Planning Standoffs, creepage clearance, and insulating components integrated at design stage
Cleanroom Handling & Particle Control

Test hardware goes into environments where a chip or a smear is a defect. Parts are deburred, washed, and inspected on a clean bench with gloves, then packed individually. Blind holes and slots are checked for retained chips, and edges that could generate particles during handling are broken. Where required, we supply cleaning records with the shipment.

Prototype, Qualification & Volume

Qualification builds are usually single units with tight schedules; production testers need repeatability across a fleet. We validate the first unit against the drawing, document the process, and reuse the route for follow-on orders. Test socket and probe plate interfaces are machined to the customer's interface drawing so a replacement base does not require re-qualification of the whole tester.

Machining Services for This Program

Beyond the part itself, our CNC machining parts factory supports the surrounding scope:

  • DFM and drawing review
  • 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling and turning
  • Stress-relief processing
  • Anodizing and hard anodizing
  • Bead blasting and passivation
  • Plating and laser marking
  • Light assembly and inspection reporting

Buyers who need custom machined metal parts for the rest of the station can source them on the same purchase order — one quality standard, one delivery schedule, one point of contact.

About Our Factory

We machine precision metal parts for automation, semiconductor, medical, and new energy customers. The process is deliberately unglamorous: drawing breakdown, process planning, stress control, first-article verification, then locked parameters for batch work. Working tolerance is ±0.01 mm on production parts, inspection data is matched to the drawing revision, and delivery dates are quoted from the route we actually run — not from optimism.

Request a Test Fixture Quote

Send the device and socket drawings, test temperature range, coplanarity requirement, cleaning specification, and quantity. We will review the design, flag thermal or contact risks, and return a quotation with process notes and lead time.
