This guide tube support bracket is a compact machined body with a precision bored boss for the guide tube, a clamp slit with a tightening screw, and a mounting flange with counterbored holes and a dowel location. Unlike a flat plate, the bracket has to hold a bore true to the mounting face after the slit is cut, because the slit relaxes the bore and any error turns into tube misalignment on the machine. It is used to guide and steady rods, tubes and mandrels on automation
