5-Axis Milled Hard Anodized Hydraulic Distribution Block with 0.01mm Station Pitch Accuracy for Multi-Station Manifold Block Circuits
Multi-Station Distribution Block
,Hard Anodized Aluminum Manifold
,Stepped Valve Cavity Block
This multi-station distribution block is milled from a single 7075-T6 aluminium billet with five identical stepped valve stations along the top face, NPT ports on the end faces and one side wall, a mounting rail groove underneath, and laser-marked station numbering. It is designed for compact pneumatic and low-to-medium pressure hydraulic panels where several identical circuits sit side by side and the station spacing, cavity depth, and port heights must be identical across all five positions. Because every station is cut in a single 5-axis clamping, the block behaves like one machined part rather than five blocks bolted together.
| Step | Operation and Control Point |
|---|---|
| 1. Billet selection | 7075-T6 plate cut oversize; hardness and mill certificate checked, plate flatness verified before the first cut. |
| 2. Stress relief | Rough milling to remove skin, then stress relief so the long block does not bow after the stations are pocketed. |
| 3. Datum and rail preparation | Bottom rail groove and reference edge machined first and used as the datum for all station work. |
| 4. 5-axis station machining | Five stepped cavities, port bosses, and bolt holes cut in a single clamping with 3+2 axis indexing; station pitch held by machine positioning rather than re-fixturing. |
| 5. Port drilling and tapping | NPT and metric ports drilled, tapped, and gauged; thread depth controlled so fittings do not bottom out on the cavity floor. |
| 6. Cross passage and plugging | Internal connecting passages drilled from the ends, then plugged and sealed where the circuit requires. |
| 7. Deburring and cleaning | Hand deburr on cavity edges and port mouths, ultrasonic cleaning, passages blown and inspected. |
| 8. Hard anodizing | Type III hard anodizing 25–50 µm on the specified surfaces, with threads and sealing faces masked to protect fit. |
| 9. Laser marking and assembly check | Station numbers, port IDs, and part number laser marked; test fittings run into every port to confirm thread and depth. |
| 10. Final inspection | CMM check of station pitch and cavity depth, thread gauges, flatness, and anodizing thickness report shipped with the lot. |
| Station pitch accuracy | ±0.01 mm between cavity centres |
| Cavity depth | ±0.02 mm, step-to-step variation within 0.01 mm |
| Cavity width and length | ±0.02 mm |
| Port position | ±0.02 mm from the datum edge |
| Port thread | NPT / BSPP / metric, gauged 100% |
| Mounting rail straightness | 0.02 mm over the full length |
| Block flatness and parallelism | 0.02 mm |
| Cavity surface roughness | Ra 0.8–1.6 µm on sealing faces |
| Hard anodizing | Type III, 25–50 µm, 400–500 HV |
| General tolerance | ±0.01 mm on critical features, ±0.05 mm general |
Long aluminium blocks are the classic case where station pitch drifts, because thermal expansion and re-clamping both accumulate along the length. Cutting all stations in one clamping on the machine datum removes that accumulation, and the CMM check reports pitch per station rather than only an overall length.
Custom blocks are the core of this product line, so the station concept — not a catalogue pattern — drives the design.
- Station count from 1 to 12, with pitch and cavity size set by your valve or fitting family.
- Station options: stepped cavities, threaded cartridge seats, O-ring grooves, seal lands, blank stations for future use.
- Port layout on any face, with mixed thread standards and different port sizes per station.
- Materials: 7075-T6 for strength and light weight, 6061-T6 for cost-driven panels, 6082-T6 for structural blocks, 316L stainless where the medium demands it.
- Finishing: hard anodizing in black, clear, or colour; masked threads and sealing faces; laser marking of station and port IDs.
- Integration features: DIN rail or dovetail mounting groove, cable or tube routing channels, nameplate recess, earth stud.
- Prototype quantities from 1 piece, with the same program carried into production.
Send your circuit layout, a STEP model, or a photo of the panel it replaces, and our engineering team returns a manufacturability review covering station pitch limits, cavity depth against wall thickness, and finishing options — usually within one to two working days.
Dongguan Changxinda Precision Technology Co., Ltd is a custom CNC machining supplier founded in 2008 in Dongguan, Guangdong, China. The facility runs 4-axis and 5-axis CNC machining centers, turn-mill combined lathes, and CNC lathes with roughly 100 staff, including dedicated CAM programming and quality teams. Over 200 customers are served in medical equipment, robotics, automotive, aerospace, automation, laser, LED, lithium battery, and precision testing instruments, and 50–60% of output is exported. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified, with annual sales in the USD 10–20 million range and in-house inspection on CMM and optical equipment. Multi-station blocks, manifold bodies, and long machined plates with tight station-to-station accuracy are routine work, drawing on the same capability used for automation fixtures and fluid handling parts.
- Monthly capacity above 10,000 pieces for blocks of this size, with reserved capacity for repeat programmes.
- Typical lead time: 3–7 days for prototypes, 7–14 days for 10–100 pieces, 14–30 days for mass production.
- Programs, fixtures, probe routines, and the approved first article are archived against your part number; repeat lots start without re-programming.
- Anodizing is done with a fixed subcontractor and a fixed process sheet, so colour and thickness stay consistent between lots.
- CMM and anodizing thickness reports ship with every lot, keeping your incoming inspection short.
- Export packaging: individual foam wrap, corner protection, desiccant, master carton, palletized for LCL or FCL.
Pneumatic control panels, hydraulic distribution blocks for machine tools, automation valve islands, packaging machinery manifolds, test bench distribution blocks, printing and textile machine panels, robotic end-effector air manifolds, and custom non-standard multi-circuit blocks built to customer layout.
Station pitch, cavity depth, and port heights are referenced to one machine datum instead of being re-fixtured five times. That holds pitch to ±0.01 mm and step depth variation to 0.01 mm, and it removes the cumulative error that shows up on long blocks when each station is set up separately.
Yes. Station count, pitch, cavity width and depth, thread standard, and port sizes are all set by your fittings and circuit. Send the valve or fitting datasheet with your layout and we confirm wall thickness and cavity depth feasibility before quoting.
Threads, sealing faces, and bores are masked before anodizing, so fits and O-ring sealing are unaffected. Anodizing thickness is checked and reported per lot at 25–50 µm Type III, 400–500 HV, which is what gives the block its wear resistance on sliding and clamping surfaces.
One piece. Prototype and production use the same program and fixture, so the sample you approve is the part you receive in volume, with no re-qualification step between the two.
Programs, fixtures, probe routines, anodizing process sheets, and the approved first article are archived against your part number, and repeat lots are booked against reserved capacity above 10,000 pieces per month. Every lot ships with CMM pitch data and anodizing reports, so both timing and quality stay repeatable.
Send your circuit layout, STEP model, or the panel block you need to replace, and our engineering team will return manufacturability feedback, station pitch limits, and a quotation — usually within one to two working days.
