Automation Fixture Base Plate 6061-T6 Aluminum 0.01mm Flatness CNC Precision Milled
6061-T6 Fixture Base Plate
,0.01mm Flatness Fixture Plate
,H7 Dowel Hole Fixture Plate
A fixture base plate carries the whole measurement chain of an automation station: every dowel pin, clamp and sensor sits on it, so any deviation in flatness or hole position is multiplied downstream. We machine these plates from 6061-T6 aluminum on 5-axis CNC machining centers, hold flatness to 0.01mm over the working area and ream dowel holes to H7 with position accuracy of 0.01mm, then release each plate with a CMM report that the buyer can check against the drawing before assembly starts.
| Feature | Capability | How It Is Verified |
|---|---|---|
| Plate flatness | 0.01mm over 300mm | CMM scanning, full surface map |
| Top to bottom parallelism | 0.015mm | CMM, 9 point measurement |
| Dowel pin holes | H7, reamed 0.01mm position | Pin gauge + CMM, 100% checked |
| Thickness | 0.02mm | Micrometer, 5 points per plate |
| Surface roughness | Ra 0.8 fly-cut finish | Roughness tester, sampling |
| Threaded inserts and tapped holes | Per drawing, perpendicularity 0.02mm | Thread gauge + CMM |
| Edge and corner radius | Per drawing | Profile projector |
- Double sided machining: the plate is roughed on both faces, allowed to relax, then finished, so internal stress released by removing the skin does not bow the plate after delivery.
- Datum first: two edges and the bottom face are machined and used as the datum for every later operation, which keeps hole position consistent with the drawing origin.
- Clamping away from working area: fixtures clamp on sacrificial margins, never on the finished surface, so no clamp mark distorts the flatness reading.
- Step-controlled finishing: fly cutting with fine depth of cut and a sharp, dedicated insert leaves a uniform Ra 0.8 surface without heat distortion.
- Hole strategy: dowel holes are drilled, semi-reamed and finish reamed in one clamping with the plate supported, which prevents the ovality that a floating plate produces.
- Drawing review: hole pattern, datum definition and tolerance stack are checked and DFM notes are returned before cutting.
- Material: 6061-T6 plate sawed with allowance, faced and squared.
- Roughing: both faces and all pockets roughed on a 5-axis machining center with high-feed tooling.
- Stress relief pause, then semi-finishing of datum faces and hole positions.
- Finishing: fly cut of the working face, finish reaming of dowel holes, tapping and engraving of part number and datum marks.
- Deburring and ultrasonic cleaning, followed by clear anodizing or hard anodizing if specified.
- Final CMM inspection with a printed flatness map and hole position report.
- Packing with protective film between plates, edge protection and export carton.

Dongguan Changxinda Precision Technology Co., Ltd has produced custom machined parts since 2008 for more than 200 customers in automation, robotics, medical, automotive, aerospace, semiconductor, laser, LED and lithium battery equipment. The plant runs 4-axis and 5-axis machining centers, turn-mill compound lathes, CNC lathes and milling machines in two shifts with roughly 100 employees and aluminum stock kept on hand, so a repeat order does not wait for material. Prototypes ship in 7-10 days, batch orders in 15-25 days, and each order is booked into a fixed production slot with the promised date confirmed at order intake.
Yes. Anodizing adds a thin conversion layer and does not change the geometry measurably; when a tighter budget is needed we finish to a pre-anodizing allowance and verify after coating.
Yes, send a sample or a 3D scan; we rebuild the model, confirm the datum with you and machine to the reverse-engineered drawing.
One piece for a prototype, with price breaks from 10 and 100 pieces.
Send your plate drawing or sample requirement and our engineering team will confirm the process route and return a factory quotation within 24 hours.
