Battery module test fixtures carry high voltage, heavy modules and a schedule that does not forgive rework. The base plate has to locate the module precisely, keep creepage and clearance distances intact, isolate heat from adjacent cells and survive handling in a production environment. Our battery test fixture plate program is built for new energy lines where the fixture is part of the safety case, not just a support.
Insulation and clearance by design
High-voltage fixtures fail safety review for geometry reasons far more often than for material reasons. Slot widths, wall thicknesses, creepage paths and busbar clearances are machined to the electrical drawing, with anodized or hard-anodized surfaces used as supplementary insulation where the design allows. Insulating inserts and standoffs are located by machined features rather than adhesive, so they do not migrate after thermal cycling. Where the customer supplies a clearance table, we machine to it and inspect the critical dimensions.
Locating heavy modules repeatably
A module that weighs tens of kilograms has to drop into place and seat fully, every cycle. Locating pins, datum pads and lead-in chamfers are machined so the module self-aligns as it is lowered, and contact pads are positioned so the module rests on its intended surfaces rather than on the busbar area. Pin positions are held at ±0.01 mm working tolerance and inspected after finishing, because a pin that moves by a few hundredths will not enter a close-fit hole under load.
Thermal isolation and flatness
Test fixtures often sit between a module that heats and a frame that must stay dimensionally stable. We control flatness of the mounting face, keep material sections consistent under the module footprint, and use relief cuts where heat paths would otherwise distort the plate. Where thermal isolation is required, insulating layers and their pockets are machined to a controlled depth so the module height does not change between fixtures.
Traceability and shop-floor durability
Fixtures in a battery plant get handled hard. Edges are broken, handling points are deburred, and part identification is laser marked with the part number, revision and fixture ID so a unit can be traced to its inspection record. Replaceable wear parts are planned at the interfaces that take the most abuse, so maintenance does not require a new plate.
Batch consistency across lines
New energy programs scale fast: one pilot line becomes several lines in different buildings. Because the process route, fixture design and inspection plan are documented, additional plates are produced from the same parameters and remain interchangeable. Delivery stability is planned the same way — reserved capacity for repeat programs, realistic windows quoted from the actual route, and early notice when a drawing revision changes the work.
Machining services for this program
Beyond the part itself, our cnc machining parts factory supports the surrounding scope: DFM and drawing review, 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling and turning, stress-relief processing, anodizing, hard anodizing, bead blasting, passivation, plating, laser marking, light assembly and inspection reporting. Buyers who need custom machined metal parts for the rest of the station can source them on the same purchase order — one quality standard, one delivery schedule, one point of contact.
About our factory
Our factory serves B2B buyers who need machined parts that behave the same way on the hundredth order as on the first. Every program starts with a 3D drawing breakdown, moves into a documented process route with stress control where geometry demands it, and is verified by first-article inspection before batch release. We hold ±0.01 mm on production work, handle finishing and inspection, and reserve capacity for repeat customers so delivery dates hold.
