Detailed Specifications & Features
Engineering a Press-Fit Base That Holds Its Accuracy

A press-fit fixture either controls insertion force or becomes the reason a housing cracks. The base plate is the part that decides which outcome you get. It has to carry press load without deflecting, keep the workpiece square to the press ram, stop the insertion at the right depth, and survive thousands of cycles without the locating features wearing out of position. Our press fit jig base program is built around those four requirements, in that order.

Load Path and Stiffness

Press force travels from the ram, through the workpiece, into the fixture, and out through the base. If the base flexes, the force is partly stored as deflection and released unpredictably at the end of the stroke — which shows up as inconsistent insertion depth or cosmetic damage. We design support directly under the insertion axis, keep rib sections continuous rather than interrupted, and machine the base from a single block so there is no bolted interface to creep under cyclic load.

Guiding and Insertion Depth

Guiding pillars and bushings are positioned relative to the workpiece datum, not to the plate outline. Bores are machined for perpendicularity as well as diameter, because a guide that leans by a few hundredths tilts the tooling over a long stroke. Insertion depth is controlled by a machined stop face rather than by press programming alone, so the mechanical limit and the control limit agree. Where depth is critical, we machine a hardened insert seat so the stop does not wear into aluminum.

Wear Surfaces and Cycle Life

Aluminum is a good fixture material until a steel pin slides against it ten thousand times. We plan replaceable hardened inserts, bushing seats, and wear plates at the points that actually take abuse, so maintenance is a part swap rather than a new fixture. Threaded holes in aluminum are specified with adequate engagement depth, and high-cycle threads can be fitted with inserts on request.

Changeover and Mistake-Proofing

Assembly cells rarely run one variant forever. Quick-release mounting, repeatable datum pins, and clearly machined variant pockets let a line change over without re-qualifying the press. Asymmetric features and keyed locating pins make wrong-part loading physically difficult, which is more reliable than a label or a checklist. Every pocket and clearance is machined so the operator can seat the part with one hand and see that it is fully down.

Prototype to Production Volume

We build the first fixture as a validation unit, document the route, and then reproduce it for additional cells with locked parameters. If the design changes, the revision is machined and recorded rather than patched on the floor. That keeps fixtures across a plant interchangeable, which matters when a line has to be duplicated in another building.

Machining Services for This Program

Beyond the part itself, our CNC machining parts factory supports the surrounding scope: DFM and drawing review, 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling and turning, stress-relief processing, anodizing, hard anodizing, bead blasting, passivation, plating, laser marking, light assembly, and inspection reporting. Buyers who need custom machined metal parts for the rest of the station can source them on the same purchase order — one quality standard, one delivery schedule, one point of contact.

About Our Factory

Our team manufactures high-precision machined components for industrial buyers. Every project runs through drawing and CAD review, a documented process route, first-article approval, and batch production with inspection recorded against the drawing revision. Platforms cover 3-axis and 5-axis milling plus turning at ±0.01 mm, with finishing, cleaning, and packing handled so parts arrive ready to install. Repeat programs get planned production slots rather than queue position.
