AGV Wheel Hub Bearing Housing — Two Rows, One Bore Line
An AGV hub bearing housing has to handle three things at once: coaxial alignment of the two bearing rows, exclusion of dust and moisture, and offset load from the reducer output. We place both bearing seats on a single boring axis (0.01 mm coaxiality), turn the oil seal and dust lip grooves in the same operation, and leave a reducer locating spigot on the flange face, so no shimming or lapping is needed at assembly.
Hub Bearing Housing: Three Conditions That Must All Be Met
- Dual Row Coaxiality — if the two bearing rows are not coaxial, the wheel wobbles periodically, the AGV drifts off a straight line and the tire wears unevenly. We hold 0.01 mm coaxiality by boring both seats in one clamping.
- Seal Groove Quality — the depth, width and bottom roughness of the dust lip groove and seal seat determine service life: Ra 0.8 bottom, depth ±0.03 mm, coaxiality 0.02 mm.
- Flange spigot and offset load — reducer output flange spigot coaxial with the bearing bore within 0.02 mm and face runout 0.01 mm, preventing extra bending load on the output shaft.
- Impact resistance — impact loads when an AGV crosses an obstacle reach 3 times the rated load, so the flange root gets an R4 fillet and a thickened transition to stop cracks starting there.
- Lightweight — aluminum is about 60% lighter than cast iron, directly improving AGV runtime and steering response.

Production Process: 9 Operations
| 01 | Load and Interface Review Wheel diameter, rated and impact load, dual row bearing model, oil seal specification and reducer spigot size confirmed. |
| 02 | Material and Flaw Detection 6061-T6 or ductile iron received by heat number with material certificates; castings are checked for density and internal defects. |
| 03 | Rough turn OD and cavity OD, both bearing seats and grooves rough turned in one turn-mill setup with 0.6 mm per side. |
| 04 | Stress Relief Low-temperature stress relief prevents thin-wall hubs from exceeding roundness tolerance after finishing. |
| 05 | Finish bore both bearing seats Both bearing seats bored to H7 in one setup, 0.01 mm coaxiality, 0.005 mm roundness. |
| 06 | Turn oil seal and dust grooves Oil seal seat groove and dust lip groove turned in the same setup, groove bottom Ra 0.8, depth ±0.03 mm. |
| 07 | Flange spigot and hole pattern Turn the reducer locating spigot, mill the flange face to 0.01 mm runout, drill and ream mounting holes, tap threads. |
| 08 | Surface Treatment Hard anodizing with mating faces, grooves and spigot masked; bore diameters and groove depths re-checked afterwards. |

Custom Engineering
AGV wheel assemblies vary widely, so hub bearing housings are essentially built to the whole machine.
- Bearing layout — double-row angular contact, tapered roller or paired deep groove bearings, selected by load and stiffness.
- Sealing Design — single or double lip seals, or labyrinth plus lip combinations, selected for dust and washdown conditions.
- Drive Interface — reducer spigot, hub bolt PCD and encoder mounting position matched to the drive unit.
- Material Options — aluminum for weight, ductile iron for damping and wear, 40Cr for fatigue strength.
- Validation Support — FEA recommendations for static load and obstacle impact, iterated with bench testing.
Confidentiality and IP Protection
The drawings of a complete humanoid robot are often the core competitiveness of the next machine generation. We apply both physical and data isolation on a per-project basis.
- NDA First — mutual NDA and non-circumvention agreement signed before drawings are received.
- Isolated Secure Area — dedicated machines and staff, no photography and no phones inside the area.
- Not displayed — drawings, part photos and customer logos never enter sample cabinets, catalogs, the website or social media.
- Data Isolation — programs and models sit on an access-controlled server, destroyed at project end with a written record.
- Code-named — traveler cards and packaging labels use internal codes instead of customer part numbers.
Company Profile
Dongguan Changxinda Precision Technology Co., Ltd.Founded in 2008, with a team of 90-102 staff, serving 200+ Customers, export share 50-60%, annual sales of USD 10-20 million, ISO 9001:2015 certified.
Most hub rework traces back to seal grooves: 0.05 mm of groove depth error lets dust through, and a rough bottom wears the lip. We machine grooves and bearing seats in the same setup, so the relationship between groove and bore comes out right.
