Aluminum Bearing Support Block with 0.01mm Seat Parallelism and Line Bored Twin Seats in Stress Relieved 6061-T6
Aluminum Bearing Support Block
,0.01mm Seat Parallelism
,Line Bored Twin Seats
This aluminum bearing support block carries two bearing seats on a common axis, typically for a shaft that passes through both seats on a linear motion platform, a conveyor drive or a tension roller assembly. The critical number is not the bore size but the relationship between the two seats: if they are parallel to 0.01 mm and coaxial to 0.012 mm, the shaft slides into both bearings by hand and the bearing pair shares the load evenly. If they are not, one bearing carries the radial load, runs hot and fails early.
The block is machined from stress-relieved 6061-T6, 6082-T6 or 7075-T6 plate. Both seats are line bored in the same setup, the mounting base is faced in the same clamping, and the counterbored bolt pattern is drilled from the same datum. The result is a support block that bolts down flat and does not need shimming at assembly.
Two seats, one boring pass · 0.01 mm seat parallelism · 0.012 mm pair coaxiality · stress-relieved stock
- Drawing and process plan. We check seat spacing, bore depth, bearing fit, bolt access and base datum, then issue a process plan and quotation within one working day.
- Material verification. Plate is checked against the mill certificate; 7075 is confirmed for temper, and all stock is stress relieved before machining.
- Blanking and pre-machining. The blank is cut oversize, the base is faced and the outside profile is roughed, leaving 0.5 mm on all functional surfaces.
- Datum establishment. The mounting base is finished and marked as datum A, and the bolt pattern is drilled and counterbored from that datum.
- Line boring of both seats. Both seats are bored in one pass on a common line without moving the part, which is what holds parallelism at 0.01 mm and pair coaxiality at 0.012 mm.
- Spring pass and finish. A light spring pass removes boring bar deflection, then the seats are finished to H6 / H7 and Ra 0.4 µm.
- Deburr and anodizing. Edges are broken, the part is cleaned, and clear, black or hard anodizing is applied with the seats and datum faces masked.
- Inspection and packing. CMM for bolt pattern and base, mandrel check for seat alignment, air gauge for fit, then tray packing with a first article report.

Boring each seat separately, even on the same machine, introduces the repositioning error of the second setup into the pair alignment. Line boring both seats from one side, with the part clamped once, removes that error entirely: the bar passes through both seats on one axis, so parallelism and coaxiality are properties of the process rather than of the operator's skill. We confirm the result with a mandrel through both seats and a dial indicator, and on critical platforms we check every piece rather than sampling.
Every dimension is built to your drawing: seat diameter and spacing, bore depth, base size, bolt pattern, rib layout, material grade, anodizing type and colour. One piece is enough to start, with no tooling charge and no setup fee, and the prototype uses the same fixture and inspection plan as the batch. If a feature would add cost without improving function, our engineer sends a DFM note with a practical alternative and waits for written approval before production.
- NDA before drawings. A mutual non-disclosure agreement is signed before models, drawings or samples are released, covering geometry, volume, end use and customer identity.
- No portfolio use. Confidential blocks never appear in samples, catalogues, website pages or trade fairs, and photographs require written release.
- Dedicated cell. Sensitive jobs run in a segregated area with named operators; programmes and fixtures are stored under a project code, not the customer name.
- Controlled partners. Anodizing suppliers receive the process specification only, never the assembly drawing or the application.
- Internal traceability. Batch records are kept for three years so a quality question can be answered without exposing the design.
- Confirmed dates. Prototypes in 5 to 8 working days, batch orders in 15 to 25 working days after drawing approval, written into the order confirmation.
- Fixed slots for repeat parts. Blanket orders reserve machine time, so the same block arrives in the same week each month.
- No re-programming. Programmes, fixtures and gauge sets stay on file, removing setup time from the second order onward.
- Early risk notice. If material, line boring, anodizing or inspection threatens the date, you hear it before the date is missed, with a partial shipment option.
- Dispatch evidence. Photos, inspection report and packing list before shipment; tracking number on the day of dispatch.

Each block is packed in a bubble bag, seated in a custom EPE cavity tray so bores and anodized faces cannot rub, then sealed in a moisture barrier bag with desiccant. The tray fits a five-layer export carton printed with part number, quantity and batch code. Sea freight ships on fumigation-free plywood pallets; neutral cartons are available for customers selling under their own brand.
Dongguan Changxinda Precision Technology Co., Ltd is a custom machining manufacturer established in 2008 in Dongguan, China. We operate four-axis and five-axis machining centres, turn-mill combined lathes, CNC lathes and milling machines, employ 90 to 102 people and work to an ISO 9001:2015 quality system. Over 200 customers have been served, 50 to 60 percent of output is exported, and annual sales sit between USD 10 million and 20 million. Our engineers build from customer drawings rather than a fixed catalogue, so a twin-seat support block with a parallelism callout is routine work for us.
We do not split the pair. Both seats are line bored in one clamping, so the alignment comes from the machine axis rather than from repositioning.
Parallelism controls whether the two axes stay the same distance apart along their length; coaxiality controls whether they share one centre line. A shaft through both bearings needs both.
Anodizing adds 5 to 15 microns per surface, so we mask the seats and datum faces, or size the bore to compensate when the customer wants the coating inside.
Yes, before files are released, and confidential parts are excluded from samples and photos by default.
One piece, with no tooling charge and no setup fee.
