7075 Aluminum Billet 5-Axis CNC Machined Centrifuge Rotor Dynamic Balanced
7075 Aluminum Centrifuge Rotor
,Dynamically Balanced Rotor
,Custom High-Speed Rotor Machining
This 7075 aluminum centrifuge rotor is a high-performance rotating precision component for high-speed centrifugal separation equipment. Machined from a solid 7075-T6 aluminum billet instead of being cast or welded, it holds a denser, pore-free structure that gives a superior strength-to-weight ratio, high rigidity and consistent dynamic balance at speed.
Each rotor is produced with 3-axis and 5-axis simultaneous CNC machining in a single clamping, keeping the sample-tube bores, central shaft bore and lightening pockets true to a single rotation axis. Critical features are held to ±0.01mm, and every rotor is CMM-inspected and dynamically balanced before shipment.
- Certified 7075-T6 aluminum billet selection with material certificate and traceability.
- 3D drawing decomposition and process planning by our engineering team.
- 3-axis roughing of the disc body and inner cavities to control distortion.
- 5-axis simultaneous finishing of the sample-tube bore array, shaft bore and lightening pockets in one clamping.
- Deburr, ultrasonic clean, then anodizing (clear, black or hard) for protection.
- CMM full-dimension inspection, then dynamic balance testing to the agreed balance grade.
- Protective packing and photo confirmation before shipment.
Dimensional tolerance: ±0.01mm | Dynamic balance: G2.5 (ISO 1940) | Shaft bore concentricity: ≤0.01mm | Radial runout: ≤0.02mm
A centrifuge rotor lives or dies by balance. After machining, each rotor is spun on a balancing machine and material is precisely removed at the lightening pockets until residual unbalance meets G2.5 (tighter grades available on request), eliminating the vibration that shortens bearing life and creates safety risk at high speed. The shaft bore and outer profile are machined concentric to ≤0.01mm with radial runout ≤0.02mm, and weight is controlled within ±2% for predictable spin-up behavior.
7075-T6 aluminum is chosen for its high strength-to-weight ratio, excellent rigidity and fatigue resistance under repeated high-speed cycles, with no casting porosity or weld seams to initiate cracks. 6061 and 2024 are available for lighter-duty rotors. Hard anodizing improves wear and corrosion resistance around bore edges and mounting faces where samples load and unload.
Custom rotors are our core business. Send STEP, IGES, STP or DWG files with your tube count, bore size, speed rating and balance grade, and our engineering team returns a DFM review within 24-48 hours. From one prototype to series production, we control the full route in-house.
