Product Description
Detailed Specifications & Features

A robot cell is only as repeatable as the interface between the arm and the tool. The end-effector mounting plate carries the gripper, the sensors and the cable package, and every tolerance in that plate shows up as tool centre point error at the end of the reach. Our robot end effector plate program treats the mounting interface as a metrology feature, not as a bracket, because a plate that is 0.05 mm out of square costs cycle time in re-teaching and scrap in mis-picks.

Flange pattern and dowel location

The robot flange pattern is machined to the arm manufacturer's interface drawing, with the dowel or locating feature cut in the same set-up as the mounting face. Bolt holes are positioned as a group and checked for position and perpendicularity, so the plate seats without preload and the dowel actually carries shear rather than the bolts. Where a quick-change coupler is used, the coupler interface is treated as the primary datum and everything else is machined relative to it.

Rigidity without excess mass

Payload is a budget. Every kilogram in the plate is a kilogram the arm cannot carry as tool or part, and mass at the end of the arm also increases inertia and settling time. We pocket the plate to remove material where it does not carry load, keep ribs continuous between the flange and the tool mounting face, and avoid thin floors that deflect under gripper reaction forces. The result is a plate that is light where it can be and stiff where it must be.

Cable routing, sensors and service access

Real end effectors carry cables, air lines and sensors. The plate is machined with routed channels, strain-relief mounting points and sensor brackets so the cable package does not rub on the arm or pull on connectors during motion. Service access is planned: fasteners that need to be reached during maintenance are not buried under the tool, and adjustment features remain accessible with the cell in place.

TCP repeatability across a cell fleet

When a line has eight identical cells, the plates have to be interchangeable. Documented datum schemes and locked process parameters mean a replacement plate can be machined months later and still locate the tool in the same position, without re-teaching every point. We keep the interface drawing revision with the part record so the match is verifiable rather than assumed.

From prototype cell to production line

The first plate usually supports a prototype cell and a design that is still moving. We machine it as a validation part, record the route, and reproduce it when the design freezes. Low-volume variants run on flexible set-ups; repeat programs move to reserved capacity so a line build does not wait on fixture hardware.

Machining services for this program

Beyond the part itself, our cnc machining parts factory supports the surrounding scope: DFM and drawing review, 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling and turning, stress-relief processing, anodizing, hard anodizing, bead blasting, passivation, plating, laser marking, light assembly and inspection reporting. Buyers who need custom machined metal parts for the rest of the station can source them on the same purchase order — one quality standard, one delivery schedule, one point of contact.

About our factory

We are a machining factory focused on non-standard, high-precision components: fixture bases, structural plates, cavities and precision housings. Engineering reviews tolerance stack-up and fixturing before quoting, first articles are measured before release, and repeat orders reuse the documented route instead of rebuilding it. That gives customers ±0.01 mm capability, consistent batches and lead times they can plan a production line around.

Request a mounting plate quote

Send the robot interface drawing, tool payload, gripper and sensor layout, cable routing needs and quantity. We will review stiffness and mass, propose a machining route, and quote prototype through production volumes with a lead time we can hold.
