Support, do not crush. Contoured pockets machined to 0.02 mm of the part model, 0.01 mm clamp repeatability, and 0.3–0.5 mm relief on all non-contact surfaces. Thin-wall aerospace parts fail in two places: in the machine, when the fixture squeezes them out of round, and after the machine, when the clamps come off and the part springs back. This fixture is designed to avoid both. The pocket is machined from the part model with a 0.3 to 0.5 mm relief on every surface that does
