Structural Bracket That Keeps Threads Alive After Fifty Rebuilds

Aluminum threads in a bracket that gets assembled and disassembled at every field service are a consumable. This cnc machining parts bracket machines the bosses to take pressed or bonded steel inserts, holds the insert bores to ±0.01 mm position and 0.01 mm perpendicularity, and lightens the body with a truss so the stiffness stays where the inserts load it.

Why Bracket Threads Strip in the Field

An M4 thread in 7075 has roughly a third of the pull-out strength of the same thread in a steel insert, and every service cycle works it a little looser. The usual outcome is a stripped hole in the middle of a rebuild, at the worst possible site.

This bracket puts the threads where they belong — in a steel or titanium insert — and machines the insert bores to ±0.01 mm position with 0.01 mm perpendicularity, so pressing or bonding is predictable and the boss wall does not crack. The body is truss-lightened to 3.0 mm webs, but the boss columns stay solid, because that is where the insert load goes.

  • Inserts, not bare threads — rated for 50 assembly cycles, replaceable when worn.
  • Bore accuracy — ±0.01 mm position, 0.01 mm perpendicularity for a clean press fit.
  • Strong where it matters — solid boss columns, 3.0 mm truss webs elsewhere.
  • Faces stay true — Ra 0.4 mirror faces flat to 0.02 mm after the truss is cut.

Production Process: 9 Operations

  1. Load and service review — bolt loads, insert type, service cycle count and body stiffness target confirmed before machining.
  2. Material verification — 7075-T6 received by heat number with ultrasonic check and 3.1 certificate, inserts certified separately.
  3. Rough machining — truss envelope and boss columns roughed with 0.6 mm allowance, symmetric removal.
  4. First stress relief — low-temperature relief so the truss webs do not distort when opened.
  5. Semi-finish — webs, chords and boss faces semi-finished with light radial engagement.
  6. Second stress relief — a second cycle before insert bores are finished.
  7. Boss and face finishing — insert bores reamed to Ø6 H7 at ±0.01 mm position, both faces mirror milled to Ra 0.4.
  8. Inserts and coating — inserts pressed or bonded to a controlled interference, hard anodizing 25 µm with bores masked.
  9. Verification — CMM on bore position and perpendicularity, pull-out test on samples, face flatness, FAI shipped.

Custom Engineering

Insert type, boss layout, service cycle requirement and body stiffness all depend on the airframe, so the bracket is built per project. Send the joint drawing and insert specification and we return a DFM note on boss wall, interference, truss layout and masking within 24 hours.
  • Inserts — press fit, bonded, or self-locking keyed inserts; stainless, titanium or brass.
  • Threads — M2 to M8, with helicoil options for existing designs.
  • Body — truss, ribbed, or solid with a stiffness target verified by load test.
  • Conductivity — chromate conversion instead of anodizing where grounding is required.
  • Sampling — 1 pc with inserts fitted for a torque and pull-out check.

Confidentiality and IP Protection

Motor geometry, stator stack and winding data are competitive information, so access is limited from the drawing stage onward.

  • NDA first — mutual NDA and non-circumvention signed before any file is exchanged.
  • Isolated area — dedicated machines and authorized staff, no phones or photography inside.
  • Codified routing — internal codes on travelers and labels instead of your part numbers.
  • Data control — per-project folders on a permission server, destroyed on request with a record.
  • No display — no drawings, part photos or logos in samples, catalogs, the website or social media.

Company Profile

Dongguan Changxinda Precision Technology Co., Ltd. — founded in 2008, 90-102 staff, ISO 9001:2015 certified, annual sales USD 10-20 million, export share 50-60%, serving customers in Europe, North America, Japan and Southeast Asia.

Machining, stress relief, anodizing and metrology run in one plant: 5-axis and 4-axis machining centers, turn-mill centers, surface grinders, wire EDM, CMM, 2.5D vision metrology and automated anodizing lines. About 12,000 aluminum parts ship each month, most of them small precision parts where the fixture and the boring sequence decide the result.

Delivery and Logistics

Two shifts 07:30-22:00, six days a week, with weekend shifts in peak season. Capacity is locked weekly for volume programs, so a rush order never displaces a scheduled batch.

  • Samples — 7-10 days, checked on your stator or bearing set before the batch is released.
  • Batch — 15-20 days from deposit and drawing approval.
  • Buffer stock — semi-finished stock for repeat models, cutting repeat lead time by about 30%.
  • Shipping — DHL/FedEx/UPS in 3-5 days for samples; air or sea for volume; EXW Dongguan, FOB Shenzhen or CIF.
  • Documents — FAI, 3.1 material certificate, CMM report and packing list with every shipment.
