0.01mm Concentricity Flap Actuator Horn and 25 Degree Arm Angle Actuator Horn Bracket in 7075-T6 Aluminum
Flap Actuator Horn Bracket
,Rod End Bearing Seat
,Horn Arm Angle 0.1 Degree
A flap actuator horn converts a linear pushrod stroke into a control-surface angle, and every degree of rigging error comes out of two features: the pivot bore and the arm angle. This CNC machining parts horn holds the arm angle to 0.1° and the rod-end bearing seat concentric to the pivot axis within 0.01 mm, with a laser neutral mark placed from the same datum — so the rigging at assembly is a check, not an adjustment.
Flap rigging is slow when the horn was made in stages. The pivot bore is bored, then the part is moved to a second fixture for the arm profile, then a third setup for the rod-end seat. Each re-clamp moves the datum by 0.02–0.05 mm, and the mechanic at the airframe ends up compensating with pushrod length and transmitter trim.
Here the pivot bore, the arm profile and the rod-end seat are machined from one datum in one clamping sequence, and the laser neutral mark is placed from that same datum rather than by eye. The arm angle is verified on the CMM, not with a protractor on the bench.
- One datum, three features — pivot, arm profile and rod-end seat from a single clamping.
- Angle held at 0.1° — verified on the CMM, so rigging is a check rather than a correction.
- Concentric seat — rod-end seat within 0.01 mm of the pivot axis, free articulation without binding.
- Marked from the datum — laser neutral mark aligns the horn to the surface travel.

- Kinematics review — required arm angle, horn length, stroke and rod-end size confirmed against the pushrod geometry before machining.
- Material verification — 7075-T6 received by heat number with ultrasonic check and 3.1 material certificate.
- Rough machining — base, arm blank and pivot boss roughed with 0.6 mm allowance, symmetrical removal.
- First stress relief — low-temperature relief so the narrow arm does not bend when the blank is released.
- Semi-finish — mounting face and pivot boss semi-finished with light radial engagement.
- Second stress relief — a second cycle before the arm is thinned, keeping the angle stable after coating.
- Finish machining — mounting face, pivot bore, arm profile and rod-end seat finished in one clamping from one datum.
- Marking and coating — laser neutral mark placed from the pivot datum, bores masked, hard anodizing 25 µm.
- Verification — CMM report on arm angle, pivot to rod-end centre and seat concentricity, FAI shipped with the parts.

Arm angle, horn length, stroke and rod-end size are set by the pushrod geometry, which changes with every airframe. Send the linkage drawing or a sample horn and we return a DFM note on arm stiffness, angle control, slot travel and marking within 24 hours.
- Angle — 0–60° in 0.1° increments, left and right hand versions.
- Rod end — Ø4 to Ø8 bearing seat, male or female thread interface, or plain pin bore.
- Adjustment — fixed hole, single slot, or indexed multi-hole pattern for coarse rigging.
- Material — 7075-T6 for flight hardware, 6061-T6 for ground rigs and test fixtures.
- Sampling — 1 pc for a linkage sweep on the bench, then volume on the same program.
Linkage geometry shows surface travel and control authority, which is exactly the information customers ask to keep inside the project.
- NDA before files — mutual NDA and non-circumvention signed before drawings are exchanged.
- Isolated cell — dedicated machines, authorized staff, no phones or photography inside.
- Codified production — internal codes on travelers and labels instead of your part numbers.
- Data isolation — per-project folders on a permission server, destruction on request with a record.
- No leakage — no drawings, part photos or logos in samples, catalogs, the website or social media.
Dongguan Changxinda Precision Technology Co., Ltd. — founded in 2008, 90–102 staff, ISO 9001:2015 certified, annual sales USD 10–20 million, export share 50–60%, with customers in Europe, North America, Japan and Southeast Asia.
Machining, stress relief, anodizing and metrology are in-house: 5-axis and 4-axis machining centers, turn-mill centers, surface grinders, wire EDM, CMM, 2.5D vision metrology and automated anodizing lines. About 12,000 aluminum parts ship each month, mostly small structural parts where the fixture decides the result.
