Aluminum Flange Connector Housing with Layered Internal Cavity Turn-Mill Composite 0.01mm Tolerance
Layered Cavity Housing Turning
,Complex Layer Boring
,Multi-Hole Flange Fit
This flange connector housing with a complex layered internal cavity is turn-mill machined by Dongguan Changxinda Precision Technology Co., Ltd., a CNC factory established in 2008. The cavity is not a simple bore: it is a stack of chambers at different diameters and depths, joined by shoulders, steps and undercuts. Each layer depth and diameter is held to ±0.01 mm, and the multi-hole flange is drilled from the same datum, then verified on a CMM.
Layered cavities are hard because the cutting tool has to reach further at every step. As the boring bar extends, it deflects more, so a deep layer can come out tapered or chatter-marked even when the previous layer was perfect. We solve it with progressively rigid boring bars, controlled depth-of-cut per layer, and interrupted cuts broken down by chip evacuation rather than forced through.
Each layered-cavity flange housing follows a controlled eight-stage route:
- Drawing review & DFM: STEP / IGES / SolidWorks / 2D PDF checked for layer depths, shoulder positions, undercuts and flange holes.
- Material: 6061-T6 / 7075 aluminum with mill certificates.
- Turn-mill programming: CAM toolpaths sequenced layer by layer with matched boring-bar reach for each depth.
- Rough boring each layer: staged roughing with uniform stock, chips cleared between layers.
- Semi-finish: each layer brought to consistent stock so the final pass loads evenly.
- Finish bore & shoulders: layered diameters and step faces finished with rigid bars and light radial cuts.
- Flange drilling & surface treatment: multi-hole pattern drilled from the cavity datum, then anodizing or per drawing.
- CMM inspection: layer diameters, shoulder depths, undercut positions and hole locations verified with a first-article report.
The layered cavity is a starting point. We machine custom housings with your own layer count, diameters, depths, undercut geometry, flange holes and material — all to drawing.
We sign an NDA before engineering review, restrict drawings to the assigned programming and machining team, and never display or reuse customer geometry. Fixtures and programs built for your part stay dedicated to your program, and surplus or reject parts are scrapped on request.
Changxinda runs a 2008-established plant with 90+ staff, multiple turn-mill lathes and 4-axis / 5-axis machining centers backed by a dedicated QC lab.

Tool reach. Each deeper layer needs a longer boring bar, which deflects more. We match bar rigidity to depth and take light finishing cuts so deep layers stay round, straight and on size.
CMM probing of each layer diameter and shoulder depth through the opening, plus wall-thickness checks, with a dimensional report on every program.
Yes — undercuts and internal grooves are cut with form tools or interpolated paths, depending on the geometry in your drawing.
Yes — layer count, diameters, depths, undercut profiles, flange holes and material can all be machined to your drawing or 3D model.
Yes, before engineering review. Drawings are limited to the assigned programming and machining team and never reused or displayed.
Prototypes 3–7 days, small batches 7–14 days, mass production 14–30 days depending on complexity, with rush support available.
