This multi-step adapter sleeve with a U-slot is machined by Dongguan Changxinda Precision Technology Co., Ltd., a CNC factory established in 2008. The stepped outer diameters, the through bore and the U-slot are all produced in a single turn-mill setup, so bore-to-OD concentricity and slot position stay locked to one datum. Critical features are held to ±0.01 mm and verified on a CMM before shipment.
An adapter sleeve is a positioning component: it steps between two diameters and locates a shaft, connector or fluid fitting. The U-slot adds a keyed or clamped interface. If the steps were turned on one machine and the slot milled on another, the slot could end up offset from the bore axis — turn-mill composite machining removes that risk by cutting every feature in one setup.
Each adapter sleeve follows a controlled eight-stage route:
- Drawing review & DFM: STEP / IGES / SolidWorks / 2D PDF checked for step diameters, bore fit, slot tolerance and material.
- Material: 6061-T6 aluminum bar with mill certificates.
- Turn-mill programming: CAM toolpaths that combine turning (OD steps, bore) and milling (U-slot) in one setup.
- Turning the steps: multi-step ODs and through bore machined to concentricity and fit.
- Milling the U-slot: slot cut and located to the bore axis without re-chucking.
- Deburr & edge break: slot edges and bore entries cleaned for assembly and fatigue life.
- Surface treatment: anodizing, polishing or per drawing.
- CMM inspection: steps, bore, slot position and concentricity verified with a first-article report.
The multi-step / U-slot sleeve is a starting point. We machine custom adapter sleeves and bushings with your own step diameters, bore sizes, slot width and length, threads or keyways — all to drawing.
We sign an NDA before engineering review, restrict drawings to the assigned programming and machining team, and never display or reuse customer geometry. Fixtures and programs built for your part stay dedicated to your program, and surplus or reject parts are scrapped on request.
Changxinda runs a plant established in 2008 with 90+ staff, multiple turn-mill lathes and 4-axis / 5-axis machining centers backed by a dedicated QC lab.

A: Cutting the steps and the U-slot in one setup keeps the slot located to the bore axis and the bore concentric to the ODs. Separate setups risk stacking errors between features.
A: ±0.01 mm on bore fit, step diameters and slot position, verified on a CMM with a first-article report.
A: Yes — any step diameters, bore size, slot width / length, threads or keyways can be machined to your drawing or 3D model.
A: 6061-T6 aluminum as standard, with anodizing, polishing or custom coatings. Stainless and brass are available on request.
A: Yes, before engineering review. Drawings are limited to the assigned programming and machining team and never reused or displayed.
A: Prototypes 3–7 days, small batches 7–14 days, mass production 14–30 days depending on complexity, with rush support available.
