Drone Frame Parts Arm 7075-T6 Aluminum 0.01mm Motor Hole Position Hard Anodized
7075-T6 UAV Frame Arm
,Hard Anodized Frame Arm
,0.01mm Motor Hole Frame Arm
A UAV arm carries the motor, the propeller thrust and the landing load in one slender beam, so every gram removed has to come from a place that does not weaken the structure. We machine these arms from 7075-T6 aluminum plate on 5-axis CNC machining centers, pocket the web down to thin ribs, keep rib thickness within ±0.05mm, hold motor mount hole position to 0.01mm and finish with hard anodizing for abrasion resistance on the clamping faces.
| Characteristic | Capability | Verification |
|---|---|---|
| Motor mount hole position | 0.01mm | CMM hole pattern report, 100% |
| Rib thickness | 1.2mm ±0.05mm | CMM section and ultrasonic check |
| Web and pocket depth | 0.05mm | Depth gauge, sampling |
| Mount pad flatness | 0.02mm | CMM surface map |
| Arm straightness | 0.05mm per 100mm | CMM axis alignment |
| Tube seat bore | H7, 0.01mm | Bore gauge, 100% |
| Part weight consistency | ±2% between parts | Scale check of every piece |
| Material | 7075-T6, 6061-T6 and carbon composite inserts on request | Mill certificate 3.1 |
- Structural roughing before lightening: the load path is roughed first, then pockets are cut, so the part never loses stiffness while it is still being held by thin sections.
- 5-axis rib pocketing: internal ribs and pocket walls at compound angles are cut in simultaneous motion with a small radial engagement, which keeps a 1.2mm rib straight instead of tapering or chattering.
- Stress management for 7075: roughing is followed by a relaxation pause, then finishing, so residual stress from the rolled plate does not bend the arm after the lightening pockets are opened.
- Fixture support: arms are supported on a machined nest with soft jaws and vacuum assistance where needed, and clamped away from the finished motor pad.
- Wear and corrosion: hard anodizing on clamp and motor faces protects the surfaces that see repeated assembly, with threads masked so bolt engagement stays within specification.
- Design review: load path, rib layout, wall thickness and motor interface are checked for machinability and weight target.
- 7075-T6 plate sawed and faced; material certificate verified against specification.
- Datum faces and reference edges machined to establish the coordinate system.
- 5-axis roughing of the outer contour and primary pockets.
- Relaxation pause, then semi-finishing of ribs, tube seat and mount pad.
- 5-axis finishing of pockets, rib walls, cable channels and radius transitions.
- Bores, bolt holes and tapped holes machined; tube seat reamed to H7.
- Deburring, ultrasonic cleaning and weight check against the target.
- Hard anodizing with thread masking, final CMM inspection and protective packing.
Multirotor frame arms and folding arm joints, landing gear legs and mounts, gimbal support brackets, battery tray structures, motor mount plates, camera payload frames, and structural brackets on industrial UAV platforms. Also applied to aerospace instrument brackets and lightweight automation arms where a stiff, low-mass aluminum structure is required.
Dongguan Changxinda Precision Technology Co., Ltd has manufactured custom machined parts since 2008, with 4-axis and 5-axis CNC machining centers, turn-mill compound lathes, CNC lathes and milling machines, around 100 employees and more than 200 customers worldwide, exporting 50–60% of output. Machining accuracy reaches ±0.01mm, and the plant handles non-standard aluminum parts and complex cavity work on 5-axis or 3-axis machines, from 3D drawing breakdown and process planning to batch delivery.
Prototype arms ship in 7–10 days and batch orders in 15–25 days. Because weight and stiffness targets are only met when the process is fixed, repeat orders run on the same fixture, tool list and recorded parameters, and each lot is weighed and measured against the first article. Orders are booked into a fixed production slot with a written delivery date, and any schedule risk is reported before the committed date.
Yes. Pockets and ribs are adjusted in the 3D model before machining, and finished parts are weighed individually with a ±2% band.
Yes, tube seats and bonding surfaces are machined to the tube diameter with the required clearance and surface finish for adhesive bonding.
One piece for a prototype; batch pricing from 20 pieces.
Send your STEP model with the weight target and interface requirements, and our engineering team will return a process note and a factory quotation within 24 hours.
