AGV Chassis Bracket Aluminum 0.01mm Locating Holes CNC Machined Structural Part

AGV and AMR chassis parts take a different kind of abuse from a robot arm: vibration, repeated shock loads and long duty cycles on a moving platform. The brackets we machine for these platforms combine a flat mounting face, a set of precision dowel holes and a welded or bolted interface, all produced on the same datum so the drive unit and the sensor plate actually line up.
We hold ±0.01 mm on the locating features, keep the mounting face within 0.05 mm over the full length, and verify every batch on a CMM before it is packed for shipment.
How We Machine It
- 1Stock and stress relief. Extruded or rolled aluminium stock is chosen with the grain direction in mind, then face milled on both sides to remove skin and relax the part.
- 2Datum machining. Datum faces and edges are cut first and used for every following operation, so hole patterns on different faces stay related to each other.
- 3Multi-face work. Four-axis and five-axis milling reach the side mounting pads and angled sensor faces without re-datuming the part by hand.
- 4Bores and dowel holes. Reamed or bored in the same clamping as the face, then checked for roundness and position.
- 5Finish and inspect. Deburr, clean, optional anodizing or painting, CMM report and protective packing.
Quality Gate Before Shipping
- Material certificate on file before the batch is released to machining
- First article fully measured and approved by the customer where required
- CMM report for hole position, face flatness and pad height on every batch
- Thread depth and class checked with go/no-go gauges
- Visual check for burrs at edges and inside corners, then individual wrapping
Long brackets are measured on a granite table in the same orientation they will be mounted, so the flatness number we report matches the flatness the customer measures.
Delivery and Repeatability
For a mobile robot program, the second and third batches matter more than the first. We keep the fixture and program, re-verify the first part of every rerun, and quote a fixed lead time per batch. Prototypes take 5-9 days, production batches 15-25 days, and we can hold finished stock for call-off delivery against your assembly line schedule.
Used On
- AGV and AMR chassis, drive unit brackets and battery tray mounts
- Lift column and steering module interfaces
- Sensor, lidar and camera mounting structures on mobile platforms
