The Show Floor Is Open in Houjie
The eighth CMES Dongguan International Machine Tool Exhibition opened on 29 October 2026 at the Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center in Houjie and runs until 1 November. Under the theme "Application Focus, Shock South China", the show covers 130,000 square metres and gathers more than 1,500 machine tool and automation brands. For a city producing about 30,000 CNC machine tools a year, roughly five percent of the national total, the timing is not accidental: the show is staged where the parts are actually made.
This is a supply chain event rather than a catalogue of machines: buyers arrive with drawings and cycle time targets, and the talk moves quickly from spindle speed to whether a supplier can hold a tolerance across a production run.

What It Means for Buyers of Machined Parts
The equipment on display is only half of the capability. A five-axis centre can hold 0.01 mm, but only if the shop that owns it has the fixtures, programmes and inspection discipline to match. Buyers sourcing components should read the show as a supplier checklist.
- Can the supplier hold 0.01 mm on port position and cavity depth across a batch, not only on a sample?
- Is there a first article report, a material certificate and a leak test record, or only a verbal promise?
- Can an order start at one piece without a tooling charge, and will drawings stay confidential under NDA?

Prototypes ship in five to eight working days, batch orders in 15 to 30 working days after drawing approval, and every shipment arrives with a first article report.
